Shade makes a real difference at sporting grounds, courts and clubrooms – for players, spectators and volunteers. For many clubs the challenge is funding. State Government facility funding
The WA Government’s Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) provides financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop basic infrastructure for sport and recreation. There was $20 million available in the 2025/26 funding round. Check the current guidelines and round dates with the Department before you apply, as eligibility and timing change.
Talk to your local council early
Clubs often apply for facility funding with, or through, their local government. Contact your council’s sport and recreation or community facilities team early to confirm the process, the timeline and whether council can contribute.
